Moonies Club Presents: Magical Girl Festival

This past weekend we had the opportunity to vend at New York’s first-ever Magical Girl Festival in Brooklyn.  Hosted by Victoria L. Johnson of the Sailor Moon Fan Club Podcast.  This was our third time vending at any Convention and one of our best experiences as a brand yet.   Much like AniTomo and WinC Convention this was a free event family friendly event. 

There were Wand Making classes, guided journaling sessions, and other panels. A live music performance by Shauna Moon and Machi Mahou Maid Cafe.  A live DJ set by Magical Girl Bre.  

One of the coolest things about this event is, it was so specific. The Magical Girl aesthetic is bright, vibrant, and fun.  Our Moon Collection fell right into place.  But we also took it a step further and made some Con Exclusive merchandise. We premiered two original bookmark designs and ordered magical girl-themed stickers. (Two from our Revolutionary Women collection and brand new design to expand our sticker collection. Unfortunately, the stickers didn’t arrive on time due to printing issues but that’s life. We just gotta chalk it up to the game.  

As a business, that lives mostly online everything is a learning experience.  But we’re building every day brick by brick.   We managed to reach our sales quota too.  Take part in some interesting conversations.  Nerds are funny, and if you ask the right questions, conversations get much more interesting.  Overall, we had a really dope time at the Magical Girl Festival.
